There are many different estimators in the stereologist’s toolkit. Much of what appears to be different is very similar. The other parts of this website explore the various aspects of stereology. Here these components are assembled into estimators that are commonly used.
Many of the details are not explored here simply because it is best to refer to other pages that provide more insight. For many people, the overviews provided here are sufficient to get started.
The readings section contains many articles on the various estimators. The readings often refer to the paper that introduces the estimator. At the end of each of the pages in this section are articles that describe the estimator in use.
